Stephen J. Nizinski

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Stephen Joseph Nizinski passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at his home at the age of 83 years old. The son of the late Stephen and Gertrude (Dubay) Nizinski, Stephen was born on October 11, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan.  He married Barbara (Kruk) Nizinski on August 11, 1973.

Steve was the person you turned to for good advice and words of wisdom. He was a hard worker and had a long career as an Electrical Engineer after graduating from Michigan State University. He loved spending time with his family and he would do anything for his beloved wife Barb.  He adored his sweet dog Ginger who he called his baby girl.   

Steve was a brilliant man, but a simple man and he found enjoyment in the simple things in life. He enjoyed spending time at his lake home in Chetek, Wisconsin, fishing and taking his pontoon out for a spin on the water. He enjoyed going out for a bite to eat with his wife and gambling on the slot machines. He was patient, kind and had a big heart, always willing to help out his family and friends. He will be forever missed and his lasting legacy is the lessons of life he taught his family.

He will sadly be missed by his wife Barbara and his three sons, Mark (Angel), Matt (Cindie) and Anthony (April) and two daughters Sherry (John) LaFave and Shelly Hardt; twelve grandchildren, Blair (Jeremiah), Nikki (Brian) Lathrop, Tasha, Matthew, Stevie (Megan), Miranda, Allyssa, Amanda (Jery) Walworth, Tommy, Tony, Jenni (Don)and adopted granddaughter Haley (Eric) Stern along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his son, Brian Nizinski, son-in-law Tom Hardt and siblings Norbert Nizinski, Bonnie Gilginas, and Rosemary Gulliver.
