Sandra J. (Walimaki) Price

Sandra “Sandy” Price passed away peacefully November 27, 2022, a rainy day; she loved rainy days.  The space she left behind is already missed by her children Jay Christenson (Michelle), Renelle Paradowski (Scott Williams), Paula Maciolek (Tim), granddaughter Britney Crivello, great granddaughter and apple of her eye, Nevaeh Crivello, sisters Deborah Stopar (Ken), Doreen Stoltz (Ed), and brother Don Walimaki (Beth).  She also will be missed by a great number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In Superior, Wisconsin on October 30th, 1945, Sandy was born.  Her family moved to Milwaukee when she was a young girl where she grew up and went to Bay View High School.  She had many different work experiences such as a seamstress for Jockey and Brills, a cocktail waitress at the Blue Canary, a few different positions at Association Life Insurance Company, banquet server at the Midway Motor Lodge -Airport, and lastly, medical records clerk and lab assistant at Aurora St. Luke’s and West Allis Hospitals.  She retired in 2007. 

Everyone knew Sandy as having a particularly good sense of humor and for being fun loving.  She was known as the “fun mom” among her daughters’ friends.  This no doubt helped her as she raised two teenage girls on her own while working full-time, often with a part-time position on the side.  She loved sparkly things and bling.  Animals in need were a special concern of hers.  She supported several animal rescue organizations and even spent some time volunteering at MADACC playing with the kitties and doing dishes.

In 2007, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  She didn’t miss a beat and tackled a Whipple surgery, chemo, and radiation like a champ.  Doctors suspected she would only have five more years to enjoy life, but she stretched it out to 15.  

Sandy was preceded in death by fiancé Ray Rubner, father Evert Walimaki, mother Mary Ann Borkowski (Joe Raffaele), stepfather Stanley Borkowski, brother Dennis Weller, dear buddy Jeremy Jones, and her precious cats Ariel, Mr. Winter, and Buddy.

A graveside service will be held on Monday December 5th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 3800 East College Avenue, Cudahy.  Please line up at main gate at 10:50 a.m. for procession to gravesite.
