Ned E. Dorau
August 17, 1940 ~ January 23, 2024 (age 83) 83 Years Old
Reverend Ned Evan Dorau, retired pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Random Lake
Wisconsin, passed away at Zilber Hospice on January 23, 2024, at the age of 83. Much loved,
survived by his siblings Tim(Elissa Franke) Dorau and Mary(Charles) Buscher, relatives and
friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Monetta Dorau. Ned was a graduate of UW-
Oshkosh and St. Francis Seminary/Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago. He was ordained as
an ELCA minister in 2003 and served St. Paul’s until retiring. A second career minister, Ned
managed the Yellow Cab Company in Milwaukee prior to being called to ministry. Pastors
Lowell Timm, John Allen and Carl Kramer were influential mentors for Ned as he grew in his
faith and ministry. He loved classical music, was a skilled pianist and organist, and a Milwaukee
Symphony season ticket holder for many years. He enjoyed the company of his dogs Tucker
and Murphy and his current dog Patrick. Reading about history and following politics fascinated
him. Ned loved train travel and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. He relished a good glass
of wine, a robust cup of coffee, Lasagna, chocolate chip cookies and Pandl’s Schaum Torte.
The family would like to thank his friend, Alice Menzel for watching over Ned and the staff at
Aurora Hospital Grafton for their wonderful care. If desired, memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, Random Lake, Wisconsin would be appreciated. A memorial service is planned for
early summer. Godspeed, Ned!
