Karen Mattila passed away on November 7, 2023 at the age of 83.
Cherished and beloved wife of the late Richard. Loving mother of Cindy Mattila, Shelly Mattila, Cheryl (Pete) Madden, and Stacy (Troy) Klug.
Dear "GK" to grandchildren Brian (Annie) Lowis, Jamie (Michael) Cole, Allison Wagner; Great-grandchildren Abby Burie, Sky Lowis, Jonah, Janessa, Miles and Sullivan Cole.
Further survived by her sister Nadine Sjoblom and brother Duane (Marlene) Van Buren. She was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Carol Van Buren, and sister Wanda Sjoblom.
Karen had a passion for flower gardening and looked forward to visiting Milaeger's every year to pick out her favorite pink geraniums. Karen was a huge music lover and enjoyed
seeing live concerts and cranking up the stereo at home.
From Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash and Garth Brooks to Bon Jovi, Train and Jelly Roll, she loved it all!
Karen spent her final days in hospice care surrounded by those dear to her, while listening to the music she loved.
Karen's family is grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center in Lutheran Home- Wauwatosa for the care and compassion shown during this difficult time.
A private service will be held to honor Karen's life.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

or WAAGR Wisconsin Adopt a Golden Retriever Rescue, in honor of her favorite Instagram dog "Henry".
