Obituary
Jerome "Pete" Schroeder, age 86, passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on July 20, 2023. Beloved husband of Donna for 61 years. Loving father of Susan (Robert) Konlock, Shari (Michael) Carchesi, and Sheli (Michael) Konkel. Cherished grandfather of Angela and Jenna Carchesi.
Loving brother to Dorothy, Harold (Barbara), sister-in-law Margaret. Preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Sophia, brothers Thomas (Caroline), Richard, and Eugene. Further survived by dear brothers-and-sisters-in-laws DeWayne (Sandy) Doberstein, Dale (Julie) Doberstein, Patricia Doberstein and her late husband Donald, along with his nieces, nephews and friends.
Growing up on a farm just east of the airport, Jerome developed a strong work ethic, a love of animals and gardening. He served in the US Army Reserves, and retired from Del Sievert Trucking (formerly Mickey Joerres Trucking) as a heavy equipment operator, driver, and mechanic. Pete was a kind man who was always willing to lend a hand. Pete loved swimming and camping with his family, walking our beloved dog Rudi, woodworking, hunting, and fishing.
The family would like to thank St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care of Pete.
