Florence was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin May 17th, 1925 and lived in various parts of Kenosha all of her life. She attended Mary D. Bradford High School and lived an adventurous life with her husband, Leo Felix Fliess. She took a train with her girlfriend Frances Williamson to elope with Leo, who she met at a square dance when she was 13.  Leo and Flo were married at the Walker Army Air Base Chapel in Russell, Kansas on January 4,1945 and lived there until he was shipped out over seas during WWII. They were partners in life and business, working non-stop to build a wonderful life together.  They travelled together to Europe, NYC, and around the country over the course of many years. Beginning in 1973, they had a camper and then a motorhome that they travelled in until they bought a house  to 'snowbird' at in Polo Park, Florida. Florence loved to go walking, shuffleboard, ride her bike, golf, play bingo, bake, cook, sew, craft, voraciously read romance novels, crochet (and crochet and crochet), bowl, and host parties. Florence & Leo lived on farmland in Somers for many years raising their children with horses and dogs while running the family business. They belonged to St. Anthony's Church (Kenosha), St. John the Baptist (Paris), St. Sebastian's (Sturtevant), St. Peter's (Kenosha) and Florence was an active member of Christian Mother's Altar Society at St. John the Baptist. She was a prolific baker and cook extraordinaire  for many church events and also for late night customers at Leo's Club and The Coffin, two night clubs run and owned by her and Leo in Kenosha, where they were prone to close out the night delighting everyone doing an energetic jitterbug. A passionate and fierce woman, she loved to be dressed in the newest fashions, drive a hard bargain, and have the 'best of the best' of all things for herself and her family.
A true lover of god, gimlets, and bingo, we send her off to the never ending happy hour in heaven to "Snap One on" with Leo and all of her loved ones she that she's been looking forward to seeing.
We love you so much, Flo.
