Obituary

Dorothy Schroeder (née Prentice) entered into eternal life on Friday, March 24, 2023 at
the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Rose Prentice,
her beloved son James Hahn, her best friend and sister Marcella Draheim, and sisters
Rosemarie Prentice and Marge Pfister.

Dorothy was the loving and devoted mother to four sons, Gene Hahn (Vicki), James
Hahn-deceased (Kathy), Jeffery Hahn (Donna) and Gordon Hahn (Suzanne). She was
the beloved grandmother to Jason, Melissa, Katie, Charlotte, Holly, Bryan, Kayla,
Jennifer, Lisa and Jason along with 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by
nieces and nephews and a host of friends in both Milwaukee and Tomahawk.

Dorothy was a farm girl at heart, having been born and raised on a farm in Pulaski,
WI. Life was not easy but she loved every minute of it and frequently commented about
how she wished she could have raised her sons on the farm. The family moved to
Milwaukee when she was a young teenager and she eventually adjusted to city
life. Dorothy worked as a nursing assistant for many years and eventually at Deltrol
Controls where she retired after 24 years of dedicated work.

Dorothy loved cooking, baking, creating her own recipes, gardening, and her Green Bay
Packers. She passed on her passions to her sons and grandchildren. Dorothy was
thrilled to know that her name will be on a commemorative brick on the walkway outside
Lambeau Field. She never got to see the original brick that bears her name but she
would be so touched if friends and family stopped to honor her memory and the Packers
if ever in Green Bay.

Dorothy worked very hard and was always fiercely independent. Fifty-five years ago
she purchased a small cabin in Tomahawk, WI; where she could spend time with her
family, where everyone was welcome, and wonderful memories were created. Over the
years that little cabin was replaced with a very comfortable home and upon retirement
she moved to Tomahawk which she considered her little piece of "heaven on
earth". Dorothy remained in Tomahawk for 20 years where she led a very active and
full life until 2021 when health issues necessitated her return to Milwaukee. She stayed
with family for a brief time and eventually moved into an assisted living facility where
she remained until she peacefully returned to our heavenly home.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Woods of Caledonia, especially the
2nd floor caregivers and St. Croix Hospice for the kind, compassionate and loving care
provided to Dorothy and the support to her family.

Until we meet again “Hubbards”, may the Lord bless you and keep you in his tender
loving care.
