He left us at the age of 92, after a life well lived, but not nearly long enough for us.
He was the beloved husband of Diana (Bloxdorf), and Dad to Karen Krueger, Carolyn Antes (Richard), John (Elizabeth) Williams and Jim Williams (Jodi Jecevicus). He had 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his Mother Bessie (Crocker),his Father John and seven siblings: Tom, Eddie (Nellie), Millie Ours (Orphie), Edie Thompson (Fritz), Irene Ratliff, Martha Oley (Ron),and Magaret (Bonard Grisham) and several nieces and nephews.
At a very young age he joined the Army and served his country in the Korean War. Participating in the honor flight with his son John, was one of his favorite memories.
His bravery was also documented in the book "Dear Alfie", written in his honor. Wherein he saved a drowning boy- the author Ronald Ruble. "Walk the woods in peace Alfie" could not be more fitting now.
He retired as a Steamfitter from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He loved his family, nature, camping, traveling adventures, and fishing. Playing his saxophone was also a favorite pastime of his. He had an independent spirit and made his own path in life. We will miss him and his “Williams” humor so much.
Thank you Dr.Knight, Dr Kadar, Heidi, and their entire staff for all of their years of care and compassion.
