Anne M. (Redeman) Sandahl

Our very sweet Mom and Nana went to Heaven on June 28, 2019, after a life long struggle with Bipolar Disorder. She passed away peacefully at Angel’s Grace Hospice, knowing she was completely and eternally loved. Anne was born September 26, 1942 in Menominee, MI to Louis and Violet (Johnson) Redeman. She married Ron Sandahl on November 20, 1960, and became a mom to Sherry in 1962, and Terry in 1964. The family moved from the U. P. to Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

Anne worked at Kohl’s on Grange for over 15 years, and volunteered at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home. She also taught cooking and baking to 4-H kids in Oak Creek. She was a true Empath---she could sense the mental and emotional state of others, and always greeted strangers with a warm smile.  Our mom was also generous to a fault, frequently writing $20 checks to various charities, as evidenced by the pile of address labels, holiday cards, calendars, and wrapping paper in her home. As quick as Anne was to donate to every cause imaginable, she often wondered why there wasn’t more attention and outreach for mental health and addiction issues. 

In addition to Sherry and Terry, our Nana Anna will remain forever in the hearts of family and friends, including Pete, Betty Jo, Lindsey, Marty, Joe, Dania, Brandon, Melinda, Kent, Judy, Corky, Bernice, Emma, Little Lindsey, Ben, Penny, Jaxson, Colten, and eight nieces and nephews, with their extended families.  She loved going out to eat with Joe and Dania, and spending time with Lindsey. Lisa and her family were favorite visitors of Auntie Anne. Also, we cannot forget Shannon for being a wonderful friend, and making our mom look beautiful.  Jamie gave Anne tender loving care near the end of her life, and Pastor Dave reinforced the love of Jesus with his frequent visits. We are so very grateful for everyone’s kindness to our mom.

Preceding Anne in death were her husband Ron, parents Louis & Violet, in laws Wendell & Selma, sister Joan, brother in law Frank, niece Laurie, nephew Jeff, daughter in law Tomi Sue, and grandson Elliot.

Please honor the memory of Anne now by seeing the best in others, finding common ground with those who don’t share your  views, and remembering those less fortunate than you. Write your own $20 check to St. Jude’s, JDRF, NAMI, IMPACT 211, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, the VFW, or HAWS.
